After Donald Trump tweeted about his "great and unmatched wisdom" on Monday, in defense of a military policy reversal so inadvisable even the hosts of Fox & Friends urged their #1 fan to "rethink", there wasn't much room for the nation's late night writers to make jokes about the president leaving the Kurdish allies against ISIS at the mercy of Turkey.
But Stephen Colbert's team had a go at it anyway.
"I get what you're saying," the Late Show host said, addressing the clip of Fox's Brian Kilmeade, "but to rethink something he has to have thinked it first."
The audience's shocked reaction to Trump's 'wisdom' tweet is also really something. As Colbert says, "He's gone full god-emperor."
