The internet can't get enough of the viral Salmon Cannon, but it's no joke.

Nonetheless, The Late Show's Stephen Colbert made a few dam (sorry) good ones about it on Tuesday, in his beloved news segment, "Meanwhile."

Meant to move large numbers of salmon over dams, the cannon was created by fish transport company Whooshh Innovations. Yes, Whooshh.

"The device is known as the Salmon Cannon, which narrowly beat out the Gill Gun, the Trout Spout, the Bass Blaster, and of course, the Flinging Nemo," Colbert quipped.

Meanwhile, Colbert managed to fit in another joke while praising Simone Biles for her history-making moves at the U.S. Gymnastics Championship.

"No other gymnast in the world can do that without being shot out of a Salmon Cannon."
