Once again Stephen Colbert has addressed a mass shooting in America.

On Monday night Colbert gave his response to the shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas. "I haven't the slightest idea how to adequately address the attack," said Colbert.

He pointed out that this shooting occurred 35 days after the largest mass killing in Las Vegas. He adds that although everyone wants something to change after an event like this, "no one does anything... and that seems insane."

However Colbert did not give in to pessimism, saying "I know that hopelessness is not the answer," and urged people to reclaim power not through arms, but with their vote.
