"You can't use the power of the office of the president to protect a family business," said Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night's Late Show.

He was speaking in reference to President Donald Trump's Wednesday morning tweet that claimed Nordstrom has treated his daughter Ivanka "unfairly" for its decision to remove her clothing line from its stores.

"That would be like Jimmy Carter making all of us drink Billy Beer, or that would be like George Bush invading a country that had oil, you can't do it," Colbert joked.

He even laid into Congressman Jason Chaffetz, the chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform who failed to talk oversight with Trump following the president's Nordstrom tweet.

Instead, they talked postal service reforms, and Colbert has a hunch why:

"[Trump] needs to know how many stamps to put on Chaffetz's balls when he mails them back to him."
