Son comes out to dad in heartwarming Taiwanese McDonald's commercial
Watch Next

Have some tissues on standby. McDonald's Taiwan just released a new ad about a young man coming out to his father over a cuppa, and it has plenty of feels.

The 90-second commercial opens with a father and son sitting stoically in a McCafe with a coffee cup between them. On it, the man has written: "I like men."

After reading the message, the man's father stands up and walks away, leaving the man and us to believe that his father has rejected him. The father returns with another drink in his hand and after a moment, picks up the first cup and proceeds to write: "I accept you."

This spot is part of the fast food chain's "More warmth in conversations" series and is especially relevant as homosexuality is a hot topic in conservative parts of Asia.
