Taylor Swift recently had laser eye surgery, but apparently she still didn't see this coming.

Swift's mother filmed her at home after the procedure, when the singer was absolutely high as balls on painkillers, David After Dentist style. Then Ma Swift gave the footage to Jimmy Fallon, so that we could all enjoy the sight of her being brought nearly to tears by a bunch of bananas. And also the sight of her looking good-naturedly horrified at being, uh, blindsided by the footage on a talk show.

Fallon tries to keep the interview going, but Swift can't quite move on from her mother's betrayal.

While it seems somewhat less than likely that Swift genuinely had no idea this was coming, the video itself seems like the real deal — and the star in taped-on medical goggles, not quite nailing the angle as she tries to bite a banana, insisting "My mind is alive" is truly a sight to behold.
