Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump

Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice hits theaters next month, and based on its first trailer, it's going to be a wild ride.

Directed by Ali Abbasi, The Apprentice stars Sebastian Stan (A Different Man) as 1970s-era Donald Trump, who becomes the protégé of cutthroat attorney Roy Cohn (Succession's Jeremy Strong). In the trailer, Cohn teaches Trump his three rules to always winning. First: "Attack, attack, attack." Second: "Admit nothing, deny everything." And finally: "No matter what happens, you claim victory, and never admit defeat." Seems like these rules had some real staying power, as they're basically a condensed version of Trump's playbook today, especially as he runs for re-election for a second term as U.S. President.

While The Apprentice doesn't cover Trump's presidency, the trailer nods to his future several times. At one point, he examines a campaign pin for Ronald Reagan that reads, "Let's make America great again" — a grim reminder of what's to come. Later, he jokes in an interview that if he were to lose his fortune, he might just run for President.

But the presidency isn't the only key event from Trump's life The Apprentice trailer hints at. In the trailer's final clips, Cohn tells a group of party guests, "if you're indicted, you're invited!" Cut to Trump, who's no stranger to being indicted (or being found guilty outright).

The Apprentice hits theaters Oct. 11.
