Can a scientific discovery be too dangerous to share with the world? That's the terrifying question posited in The Discovery, a Netflix original film that premiered at Sundance and stars Robert Redford, Jason Segel, Rooney Mara and Jesse Plemons.

In The Discovery, Redford plays Dr. Thomas Harbor, who finds definitive proof of an afterlife and then sees the global suicide toll skyrocketing. In the trailer he addresses his findings and the lives lost in an interview with a reporter (Mary Steenburgen) and it's clear that he values his discovery above all else.

The Discovery will premiere on Netflix and in select theaters March 31.
