Hugo Blick, most recently the creator of Black Earth Rising and The Honourable Woman, is back with an epic western starring Emily Blunt as English aristocrat Lady Cornelia Locke and Chaske Spencer as Pawnee ex-cavalry scout Eli Whipp.

The English, a six-episode miniseries commissioned by the BBC and coming to Prime Video, follows the two characters on a journey of revenge, redemption, and mystery. Set in 1890, the story sees the arrival of Lady Locke in middle America, as she seeks the man she thinks is responsible for the death of her son.

A first look at the movie teases a nail-biting, tense drama, with haunting obstacles being thrown across the paths of the protagonists within, according to Amazon Studios, "a violent landscape built on dreams and blood".

The series also stars Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes, Toby Jones, Stephen Rea, Ciarán Hinds, and Valerie Pachner, amongst others.

The English will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Oct. 15. Then, it will air on BBC Nov. 10. before streaming on Prime Video from Nov. 11.
