Dolores Roach (One Day At A Time's Justina Machado) might have learned a thing or two from Sweeney Todd

Based on the podcast of the same name, Prime Video's new series The Horror of Dolores Roach blends the macabre with comedy in a twisted tale of one woman's secret empanada recipe.

After serving an unjust 16-year prison sentence, Dolores is left with no prospects or money until her friend Luis (Alejandro Hernandez) suggests that she open up a masseuse station underneath his empanada shop. But, when one session goes horribly wrong, her clients start making their way up to his kitchen — bones and all.

As their empanadas slowly become foodie favorites, all eyes turn to Dolores, who's escaping another prison sentence by any means necessary.

The Horror of Dolores Roach premieres July 7 on Prime Video.
