The new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power shows us more of the island kingdom of Númenor than any teaser before it. Often thought of as author J.R.R. Tolkien's version of Atlantis, Númenor is the home of characters like Isildur (Maxim Baldry) and the king Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle). In the trailer for the Prime Video series, we get glimpses of the beautiful human civilization on the island, as well as hints that a great change is on its way.

But that's not all. The trailer also focuses on Galadriel's (Morfydd Clark) quest to defeat evil, a brewing romance between elf Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) and human Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniad), and the dwarf kingdom of Khazad-dûm. Will these new heroes stop the gathering forces of darkness? Or will Middle-earth fall? Only one thing is certain: Epic adventure is on the way.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Prime Video on Sept. 2.
