The Godfather is one of the greatest movies ever made, but drama behind the scenes almost ended the production. Now, the tumultuous story of the making of The Godfather is the subject of its own limited series: The Offer.

Miles Teller stars as producer Albert S. Ruddy, who's tasked with bringing Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather to the big screen. The first full trailer for The Offer shows Ruddy and his assistant Bettye McCartt (Juno Temple) dealing with hostile studio heads, heavy expectations, and very angry mobsters.

Sure, we know The Godfather became a success, but the fun of The Offer lies in seeing how the sausage — or in this case, the sauce — gets made.

Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Dan Fogler, and Colin Hanks also star.

The Offer is streaming on Paramount+ Apr. 28 with new episodes weekly.
