2025 has been the year of The Pitt.

HBO Max's Noah Wyle-led medical drama captivated audiences from week to week with its gripping real-time structure. It went on to pick up 13 Emmy nominations, and on Aug. 20, it swept the Television Critics Association Awards, winning Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Outstanding New Program, and Individual Achievement in Drama, for Wyle. Now, HBO Max has released a teaser trailer for The Pitt's upcoming second season, which premieres this Jan. And by the looks of it, Season 2 is going to be just as nail-bitingly stressful as Season 1.

The Pitt faces some major changes going into Season 2. The series doesn't pick up in the wake of Season 1's shift, but instead jumps 10 months ahead to a new shift on July 4. How many fireworks and barbecue-related injuries do you think we're going to see?

The Pitt's personnel has also had a bit of a shakeup. Tracy Ifeachor, who played Dr. Collins, is not returning to the series. Meanwhile, a new doctor is entering the emergency department: Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), an attending originally from the VA hospital. You can also expect new residents and interns to be joining the cast, thanks to the time jump.

Aside from Ifeachor's departure, the rest of The Pitt's main cast is set to return. That includes Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, whom Dr. Robby (Wyle) kicked out of the ED once he discovered he'd been stealing medication.

The Pitt Season 2 premieres this Jan. on HBO Max. Season 1 is now streaming on HBO Max.
