Guy freaks out after setting a new Plinko record on 'The Price is Right'

Daytime classic The Price is Right is no stranger to its fair share of freak outs and overly excited contestants, but when you break a record, you better freak TF out.

A contestant named Ryan Belz did just that on the show on Thursday on the show's most beloved game, Plinko. The concept is pretty simple. The contestant drops chips they have earned at the top of the boards, and it randomly bounces through a series of pegs, finally landing in a slot with a designated prize.

Technique in Plinko is taken very seriously, but Belz kept it simple, dropping each in a slot chip near the "N" at the top. He ended up walking away with $31,500.

Although Belz didn't walk away with the most amount of money earned on the game, he did set a new daytime record. A spokesperson for the show just clarified what happened with the following statement:

Ryan Belz of Millerton, Pennsylvania set a daytime PLINKO record today, Thursday, May 25 on THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Belz won $31,500 beating the old record of $30,500 played in regular PLINKO games.

A U.S. Army solider won $40,000 in 2002, but that was for a special edition of the show specifically for the military, and the prizes were higher. Another contestant walked away with $41,000, but again, that was for a special edition of the show called the "Million Dollar Spectacular."
