1200 years before Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri crossed paths in The Witcher, the Continent was a very different place. An unstoppable empire rules with an iron fist, but that won't stop seven valiant warriors from banding together and fighting back in Netflix's The Witcher: Blood Origin. This prequel not only follows the Seven on their quest — it also charts the first arrivals of monsters on the Continent.

The first trailer is appropriately grandiose, introducing the Seven and their magical skills. (Check out Michelle Yeoh kicking ass!) But perhaps most surprising is the appearance of bard Jaskier (Joey Batey), centuries before he's even alive. How does the king of Witcher bops fit into all this? We'll have to wait until Blood Origin to find out.

The Witcher: Blood Origin hits Netflix Dec. 25
