It's a strange time to release a game that requires you to wander far from home, but here's one anyway!

In what appears to be something like Pokémon GO for The Witcher fans, a free, location-based, augmented reality mobile game has been announced by Spokko, a member of the CD Projekt crew responsible for the Witcher game series.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer allows you roam around slaying monsters on your phone as if you were on the Continent. You'll be able to track, study, and fight monsters with swords and signs in real-life weather conditions (if it's raining, your fight will be drenched both IRL and in the game). Plus, you'll be able to brew potions, craft bombs, and create monster bait.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be free on iOS and Android, with launch dates to be announced later this year. Here's hoping, amid the ongoing pandemic, that they make like Pokémon GO and make things reasonably possible to play from home, too.
