Last we left Thor (Chris Hemsworth), he was jetting off into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder, we get our first look at what's next for the Norse god: retirement and a quest for inner peace. Thor swears his days of being a superhero are over, and he chooses to focus on himself. However, this being a Marvel movie, we know heroics are just around the cosmic corner.

Thor is forced to pick up Stormbreaker once more when Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) plans to wipe out the gods. Luckily, he won't be facing his new foe alone. He'll team up with King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to make things right. The trailer is full of fun jokes and zany alien landscapes, but the true highlight comes in the last few seconds when we get our first glimpse of Jane wielding Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor. We're not worthy of such awesomeness (but we still can't wait to watch).

Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters July 8, 2022.
