The Time Traveler's Wife is back from the past as an HBO miniseries.

Audrey Niffenegger's 2003 novel about a man who involuntarily jumps through moments in his life returns as a six-part series starring Theo James and Rose Leslie. The trailer loosely explains how time travel works for Henry (James), and that his life's temporal center turns out to be wife Clare (Leslie).

Henry describes time travel as a disability — something he's learned to live with and adapt to. He steals clothes, runs from police, and gets into fights when he turns up naked and unexplained in different locations, and over time, older versions of him visit younger versions of Clare. Steven Moffat adapts the series from director David Nutter; Desmin Borges and Natasha Lopez costar.

The Time Traveler's Wife premieres May 15 on HBO Max.
