Every Toad you meet in Mario games appears to have mushrooms on its head. And yet a debate rages on: Are the polka-dotted tops hats or actually a part of Toad's head?
Inspired by the recent release of Super Mario Odyssey, in which Toads are seen wearing hats and even headphones over their polka-dotted domes, Dorkly did a deep-dive investigation into whether Toads are always wearing hats or if they were just born like that. YouTuber Shesez decided to do his own investigating by looking at in-game models of Toads and seeing how they've been rendered.
The results: Inconclusive.
Until we get an official announcement from Nintendo on this, it looks like it could go either way. The debate wages on.
