Random household objects don't get their own IMDb pages, sadly, but if they did the Utah Teapot would certainly be deserving of one.

It's appeared in The Simpsons and Toy Story, to name just a couple, and it was even an Easter egg in an old Windows screensaver.

"It's an in joke amongst animators," explains YouTuber Tom Scott. "And that's because it was the first realistic, complex object to be widely used in computer graphics."

In the video above, Scott explains exactly how that came about.
