Tony Hale is a master of comedy, awing critics and cracking up audiences with his hilarious performances in sitcoms like Arrested Development and Veep, the saucy mini-series The Decameron, and in kids' movies like Toy Story 4 and Hocus Pocus 2. But for his latest, Sketch, Hale shows his more serious side, acting opposite grieving kids and doodled monsters.

The feature directorial debut of Seth Worley, Sketch centers on a family that's mourning the loss of their mother. Hale plays the father of two young kids who are handling the loss in very different ways. While his son is trying to smile and carry on, 11-year-old Amber (Bianca Belle) channels her rage into a sketchbook, where she draws wrathful monsters. So, when a twist of fate (and a bit of magic) makes these pages come alive, the family has to band together and face their shared pain to save the day — and survive!

To celebrate both Sketch and Hale, Mashable Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko invited the heralded comedic actor to play "Say Action!" This improvisational game presents one famous movie quote — in this case mostly from monster movies — and one direction. For instance, "Life finds a way," from Jurassic Park, but with an LA accent.

Hale crushed the game, giving hilarious and heartfelt reads. So which one was you favorite? And would you want to give this game a go?

Sketch is now in theaters.
