Vladimir Putin may not give a straight answer to any of Oliver Stone's questions, but the filmmaker definitely isn't afraid to ask.
The director of Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July and Snowden was granted unprecedented access to Putin over the course of two years, interviewing the Russian president over a dozen times with the help of his longtime documentary producer Fernando Sulichin.
The result -- The Putin Interviews, a four-hour documentary film that will air over four consecutive nights on Showtime -- will address the controversies engulfing the increasingly fragile relations between the U.S. and Russia today, including Putin's views on President Donald Trump and allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, NATO, and fostering turmoil in Syria, Ukraine and elsewhere.
The four-night series will premiere Monday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
