Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is a peculiar child...but then again, she is an Addams. The macabre runs in her blood.

In the teaser trailer for Tim Burton's upcoming Netflix series Wednesday, we get to see how Wednesday fares when separated from her family. After getting expelled from several schools — once for an incident involving piranhas and water polo players — Wednesday is sent to Nevermore Academy, where Gomez and Morticia Addams (Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones) first met. There, she'll work to solve a killing spree, learn more about her own abilities, and try to sort out her friendships with her fellow students.

You know, just normal teenage things.

Wednesday hits Netflix this fall.
