Mix together humanity's endless fascination with volcanoes, Werner Herzog's mesmerising voice and a Stranger Things-like creepy, nostalgic soundtrack.

The result is this stunning trailer for Into the Inferno, a critically acclaimed documentary that will land on Netflix on Oct. 28.

After the release of Lo and Behold, about the internet, and his fictional thriller Salt and Fire, Herzog takes a journey into active volcanoes around the world -- Indonesia, Iceland, North Korea and Ethiopia -- and interacts with people who live near them.

"It is hard to take your eyes off the fire that burns deep under our feet," he says.

"There was a scientific side to our journey, but what we were really chasing was the magical side," he adds.

The fury of nature exposes us all.
