Tonight, tonight, we got The Trailer tonight!
The first extended look at Steven Spielberg's new version of the classic musical West Side Story premiered during the Oscars Sunday night and all we can say is: Wow.
The trailer, set to "Somewhere" from the score, is a mood-setting tease that showcases the fights, the energy, and, of course, the dancing. With a screenplay by Tony Kushner, the classic doomed love story between two teenagers with affiliations to different NY gangs stars Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, and more.
As a special treat, fans also got a peek at Rita Moreno, who of course portrayed Anita in the 1961 Oscar-winning adaptation of the beloved musical and will also serve as an executive producer on this version. West Side Story hits theaters Dec. 10.
