Shekhar Kapur, the director behind Elizabeth, is back with a cross-cultural, heartwarming rom-com. The upcoming What's Love Got to Do With It? spans from London to Lahore, with its leads Lily James and Shazad Latif examining what true love really means.

In the film, James plays a documentary filmmaker and seasoned dating-app user, who is neighbours with Latif, her childhood friend and a doctor about to embark on a journey to find a bride. James decides to document his arranged marriage experience, but there appear to be big lessons of love along the way, for both of them.

The trailer gives us a glimpse into what looks like a touching tale peppered with dry humour, large musical numbers, and plenty of chemistry. Shabana Azmi, Sajal Aly, Emma Thompson, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, and Mim Shaikh also star.

What's Love Got to Do With It is set to be released in UK cinemas on Jan. 27, 2023.
