If you have Will Ferrell at your graduation, you're not only guaranteed some great advice -- you also get a heartfelt singing performance thrown in for free as well.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Ferrell explained why he decided to belt out "I Will Always Love You" to a graduating class at the University of California earlier this year.

"I thought I would inspire the graduating class by singing a Whitney Houston song to them," explains Ferrell in the clip above.

"I started thinking, 'Do I sing a couple of lines or torture the students and their parents by singing the entire song?'"

Needless to say, he went with option number two.
