In what has put the nation off outdoor activity until further notice, a California woman mistook a baby rattlesnake for a dog toy in her own backyard.

Per KRON4, Carla Portocarerro Rosso of Calabasas, California, thought she was reaching for her dog's toy rope, and instead picked up a small snake lurking in her backyard. Despite the scare, she and the dog were fine.

The rest of us? Not so much.
