Teen smashes 'X Factor' audition, with notoriously difficult song choice

You'd be forgiven if, after watching reality television in Australia, you filled your ears/eyes with sand and switched over again. But 15-year-old Singaporean-born Natalie Ong is here to restore your faith in TV talent competitions, if only for a few minutes.

Appearing on The X Factor, Ong chose to perform Christina Aguilera's "The Voice Within." A dangerous choice to sing in front of rapper Iggy Azalea (so that's what she's up to), past American Idol winner Adam Lambert and past Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian.

Ong took the notoriously difficult song's myriad of vocal runs and huge interval leaps -- and made it look easy.

Flooring the judges with her impeccable vocal control, Ong absolutely crushed the key change, like the Hulk battling aliens.

Ong's performance of Etta James classic "I'd Rather Go Blind" even saw Lambert throw his shoe at the contestant. A gesture which we're pretty sure meant he was impressed, and not trying to injure the teen vocalist.
