During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, actor Zachary Quinto honored the memory of his recently deceased co-star Anton Yelchin.

Quinto, who plays the mostly emotionless Spock in the latest Star Trek film series, struck a serious tone when he said, "This has been absolutely devastating for all of us. I think our goal has to be to celebrate his incredible life and honor him as much as we can. It's a terrible loss."

Yelchin, who played Pavel Chekov in the film series, died last month following an automobile accident at his home. Quinto had worked with Yelchin since 2007 and called the death of Yelchin a loss for the entire film industry. Last year, Quinto was also one of the primary actors to publicly pay homage to Leonard Nimoy, the actor who first made the Spock character famous, after Nimoy died in February.

So far, not much is known about how producers will handle Yelchin's death and his role in the upcoming Star Trek Beyond, but fans will be watching closely.
