Why buy crap when you could build your own crap, thanks to instructional videos on YouTube?

One YouTuber recently posted the most badass DIY video that shows viewers how to make an exact replica of Elon Musk's promotional flamethrowers.

After Musk's 20,000 flamethrowers sold out in just four days, YouTuber "So I Had This Idea..." decided he would make his own using the same components of The Boring Company's original.

"So I Had This Idea..." lists where you can buy every part used in his video. The video contends that making your own version will save you about $272.

One on hand, I like that this feels like a giant middle finger at Musk for creating commercial flamethrowers in the first place, but on the other hand, no one should have a flamethrower unless they're Sigourney Weaver fighting off aliens on another planet.

If you don't have the spare time and ennui of a middle-aged dad to make one of these yourself, you'll be happy to know they're also on resale for a cool $1,000-$2,000.
