We Finally Know What's Inside Those Mysterious White Boxes at Apple's Event Site

Update 3:10 p.m. ET: Apple calls it the "Hands-On Pavilion" and looks like it's full of the company's just-unveiled gadgets. Our reporters are headed there now.

What the heck is in those giant white cubes near the Flint Center, where Apple is holding its big iPhone event on Tuesday?

Apple watchers are stumped over the company's intentions in building a series of three-story windowless white cubes. Conspiracy theories are mixed, with casual and professional observers alike guessing blindly.

Footage of the buildings filmed with a drone reveals =a total of five separate squares that make up the larger structure.

Some are speculating, albeit jokingly, that this is where Jony Ive, Apple's senior VP of design, spends his downtime.

Others suggest it could be a playground to demo Apple's HomeKit.

Our money is on the fact that it's just a spot for Apple to show off its new products (expected to be two new iPhones and a wearable iWatch) -- an expanded hands-on area from the main conference hall.

Only time, and Tim Cook, will tell. We'll update this story as we get more information.
