Riding a bike to work is a great workout and a smart way to cut down on emissions. But city dwellers often find it difficult to store their two-wheeled treasures.
That's why Chilean designer Manuel Rossel created a line of furniture that doubles as -- you guessed it -- bike storage.
When your itty bitty bedroom can barely fit a full-size bed and you've been forced to choose between a dresser and a desk, finding a place to store an entire bicycle seems pretty much impossible.
But Rossel's designs -- including bookcases, a sofa and sideboards -- feature deep grooves designed to accommodate your wheels without sacrificing any of the furniture's original storage capacity.
Added bonus: no wall mounts means no holes in the wall.
And Rossel hopes his line will encourage bike owners to think of bicycles as central decorative elements in their homes -- perhaps in lieu of the boob tube. "It changes the cult of the TV to one of the bike," he told Fast Company.
Sounds groovy.
