If New Jersey Governor Chris Christie were stranded on an island and could bring only one album with him, it would be Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run.

"It is my desert island disc," he said Tuesday, gushing about his fellow New Jersey native Springsteen on the 40th anniversary of Born To Run. "It is the most powerful rock album of my lifetime."

The Boss' Born to Run -- his iconic third studio album that produced such rock gems as "Born to Run," "Thunder Road," "Jungleland" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" -- was released Aug. 25, 1975. Springsteen wrote and composed every song on the record.

And on this year's anniversary, Christie gave the album a glowing endorsement:

Christie, too, was born to run -- he's jockeying for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
