A new docu-series is dancing its way to Verizon's go90 platform.
Chachi's World, from digital media company DanceOn, follows dancer, choreographer and fashionista Chachi Gonzales, winner of MTV's America’s Best Dance Crew.
Mashable has the first look at the news and the official trailer (video above) for the series, which launches Monday.
The new dance series, produced by BMP Digital (the digital arm of Bunim/Murray Productions, which is behind series like Keeping Up with the Kardashians and I Am Cait), has 12 episodes; each clocks in at just 10 minutes in order to draw in a mobile-first following. Gonzales, who has amassed 3.3 million social media followers, stars alongside her sister/business partner Dominique Gonzales, manager Clinton Ray and dog Lexi.
"Fans will see a side of Chachi Gonzales never seen before," said DanceOn CEO Amanda Taylor in a statement. "Many know Chachi's polished persona as an award-winning dancer and online star, but few have had the chance to be entertained and inspired by the resilient teenager as she takes on the highs and lows of fame and early adulthood."
DanceOn, a digital media company celebrating music and dance in pop culture, was co-founded by Taylor, iconic artist Madonna, Guy Oseary and Machinima chairman Allen DeBevoise. Investors include Allen DeBevoise, AMC Networks, Third Wave Ventures and others. The network boasts 5 billion views, 27 million subscribers and 40 million fans across its platforms.
The media company nabbed a Mashie award last week for Best Use of YouTube.
The series is yet another add to go90's growing library of original content for its platform. DanceOn said it will supply go90 with more than 80 hours of video content (28 original series) to follow through 2017.
