The social web was thrown into hysteria on Friday morning after news broke that Hostess is closing shop and taking the iconic Twinkie with it. "Twinkies" became a recurring worldwide trend as tweeters -- many of which likely haven't consumed the spongy cylindrical cakes in years -- mourned the end of snack food era.
Chris Christie, however, wants no part of the freak out. The YouTube video above, which Christie (or his staff) shared via his official Twitter account, shows the New Jersey governor taking mock exception to a question about Twinkies' twilight. He says he won't feed the hysteria -- except he quickly acknowledges that even by mentioning the very word "Twinkies," he's already nibbled at the bait.
