Congressman Bob Brady (D.-Pa.) has a thing for taking cups from world leaders.

After Pope Francis addressed Congress in Washington, D.C., last week during his historic U.S. visit, Rep. Brady apparently rushed up to the podium and took the glass of the water Francis had been drinking from.

Brady then brought the glass back to his office, drank from it, and sent several photos to the press.

Brady, who supposedly did ask permission before taking the glass, told the Philadelphia Daily News that he'd seen Francis drink from the cup three or four times. "How many people do you know that drank out of the same glass as the pope?" Brady asked.

Brady's wife and two of his staffers also took sips from Francis' glass, and U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D.-Pa.) "dipped his fingers" into it as well, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Brady poured the rest of the water into a bottle and plans to use it to bless his grandchildren.

"I'm considering it as holy water. I'm not checking with anybody. I don't want to know. Some things it's better not to know," Brady told CNN. "I mean, the pope drank out of it, the pope handled it... It's good enough for me."

Brady says he also once took a glass that President Barack Obama had taken a drink from following his inauguration in 2009.
