LONDON –- Several rumours about Ed Sheeran's upcoming (non-musical) plans are flying around at the moment.

The biggest one, which was reported by the Mirror over the weekend and has since been picked by other news outlets, concern his alleged plans to take a break from music in order to help out in a charity shop in his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk.

Although Sheeran has yet to comment directly on the rumours, he did upload a picture to his Instagram on Saturday that many have interpreted as confirmation that he is indeed planning the move.

Sheeran received publicity last year for donating his "whole wardrobe" to charity shops in Framlingham. The Mirror's unnamed source says he's now hoping to move back there to volunteer his time for a number of causes.

“There’s a good possibility he will volunteer here," Jacqui Bell, manager of charity shop Sue Ryder, told the Mirror. "We’d welcome him."

“My volunteers, who are aged between 61 and 91, know Ed because he was brought up in the town. They would be fine working with him."

Sheeran is also aiming to establish a youth centre in his home town, and has already spent money on a former police station he hopes to convert.

“He purchased the old police station to open up a youth club for £1million, so he’ll also be helping there when it's up and running," said Bell. "I think he will draw the youngsters into our shop, which would be good for us.”

We don't know exactly how long this alleged break would last, but the Mirror's source describes it as a "long break" starting "next month".

Finally -– and on a completely different note –- Sheeran has also been dabbling in acting. He's already filmed a cameo appearance in Australian soap Home and Away, which is set to air later this year, and will also appear in FX's upcoming series Bastard Executioner.

Mashable has reached out to Sheeran's representative for comment, and we will update this article if we receive a response. We have also attempted to reach Jacqueline Bell for further comment.
