Eva Longoria wears glasses, despite what you may have read recently.
The actress and Specsavers ambassador has responded on Twitter to an article by Australia publication, The Sydney Morning Herald, after lifestyle journalist Jenna Clarke claimed her glasses were all for show, that Longoria had shamelessly sold out and Desperate Housewives is for old people.
"We had Eva Longoria, the star of Desperate Housewives (don't remember it? Ask your nan about how popular it was like a decade ago) in town representing a budget eyewear chain, but according to photographers that have been snapping her for close to 15 years -- she doesn't wear spectacles," Clarke wrote.
In addition to mocking the actress, the article claimed Longoria "is a serial offender when it comes to selling out in a not so subtle way." Ouch.
Being the legend she is, Longoria, who is currently visiting Australia to promote Specsavers, decided to not let this pass without a comment. She sent out a scathing tweet in the form of an open letter, and won this battle hands down, as any nerd would, going into in-depth detail about her need for reading glasses and humble-bragging about her master's degree.
