The Geminids meteor shower made its way back into the sky in the late hours of Sunday, Dec. 12 in the U.S. and the early hours of Tuesday, Dec. 14 in Australia. It was glorious.
The Geminids shower is known as one of the better displays throughout the year. The shower happens each year when the Earth passes through debris left behind by an "extinct comet". It saw the dark sky light up with hundreds of meteors.
Seen all over the world, people have shared incredible photos and videos on social media.
If you'd like to get sentimental about your stargazing, you can also play the end credits song to The Simpsons episode where Homer meets his mother, but you may not want to add tears to the equation. These photos are emotional enough.
