It's been less than a month since someone took a horse onto a tram in Ireland, and now another guy has gone one step further by actually riding one into a Tesco.

An image of the bizarre event was shared by Reddit user PeterTheOstrich on Tuesday with the title "Spotted in Ballinasloe" (a town in County Galway).

It's worth noting that Ballinasloe does actually hold an annual Horse Fair in early October (the dates of which include Sunday 4 and Monday 5), so it's possible the strange image is in some way connected to that, according to The Daily Edge.

Either way, the picture certainly amused a lot of people.

And, of course, there was the inevitable reference to the horse meat scandal.

Where does all this equine madness end, Ireland? Are we going to see people riding horses into work next, or horses wandering into bars?

Well at least if the latter happens everyone will have a good stock of jokes to fall back on.
