Katniss Gets a Reality Check in New 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Clip

Mentor Haymitch Abernathy slaps a tearful Katniss Everdeen with an honest wake-up call in the fresh Hunger Games: Catching Fire video, below.

The reality check for Katniss and fellow Hunger Games survivor Peeta Mellark culminates with Haymitch forcefully telling the duo that their job is to be "a distraction so people forget what the real problems are."

Lionsgate posted the video on the movie's Facebook page after airing it Wednesday during a panel -- moderated by Mashable -- featuring actors Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as well as director Francis Lawrence.

After the pair won the 74th Hunger Games, Panem's 12 districts continue to rebel against the nation's villainous President Coriolanus Snow.

In Catching Fire, victors of past Hunger Games (see below) will compete in the 75th Hunger Games, a.k.a. the third Quarter Quell. It's a gruesome tradition pitting victors against each other every 25 years.
