James Holmes will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2012 theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado, but that hasn't stopped scores of women from sending him selfies and letters of admiration.
More than 200 pages of correspondence from Holmes supporters were among the documents that the district attorney's office released this week. Many of the letters were handwritten and accompanied by pouty selfies that Holmes later hung on his cell wall.
Some praise Holmes for his boyish good looks. Others read like a "dear diary" for people who have no one to talk to. A few are written by supporters who turned up in court during Holmes trial. Young women sat in the back of the room and tried to get the killer's attention.
