Little kids are about to make a big, scary splash.
Radio Flyer, which makes of the infamous red wagon for kids, came out with their latest car this week: the Tesla Model S. Sure, the Flyer Model S doesn't hit quite the same speeds the Tesla does (it maxes out at a torpid 6 mph). But it comes with working headlights, a sound system and a spacious interior. A car built for up-and-coming millennials, or four-year-olds, with wealthy parents.
For years, kids have been relegated to conservative, family friendly vehicles: wagons. Sedans. Horseys. The Tesla Model S comes in refreshingly modern colors: "Midnight Silver Metallic,” “Deep Blue Metallic” and “Red Multi-Coat." Other fine upgrades include: $15 Tesla-branded license plates, a $25 parking sign and $50 indoor car cover.
For an extra $15, you can even upgrade to Silver Turbine Wheels, whatever that means.
The car, powered by batteries, currently retails for $499. It's available for pre-purchase, with shipping beginning sometime around early May.
Adults everywhere: proceed with caution. Your kids are about to look way, way cooler than you.
