LONDON – If a brand makes a mistake in one of their adverts, it's pretty much a cast iron guarantee that the Internet will pick up on it.

For Marks & Spencer, it wasn't so much a mistake as the choice of phrase they decided to use in a recent bread advert that's been getting attention on social media.

Think M&S need a new copywriter... pic.twitter.com/X6NuazkUGX— rich purrrth (@RichSKWorth) August 15, 2015

The advert is meant to promote M&S bread rolls as a source of vitamin D, but many people have been quick to pick up on a second meaning.

Genuine mistake, or genius social media fodder? Whatever it was, it wasn't long before the jokes started...

@RichSKWorth @ChrisWhite_87 I do like to keep my levels of D up at all times...— Kevin (@KevinCPNrw) August 17, 2015

@RichSKWorth @LeeMcVeigh We've all done it. Only when it's warm though, obvs.— Daniel Thomas Gray (@OfficialMrGray) August 17, 2015

Last time I put the D in the bread I got arrested. pic.twitter.com/xTMhUyzU5R— Lee P (@pinballpickup) July 2, 2015

The D is something you definitely don't want to be putting in bread... @marksandspencer #fail #getting #TheD pic.twitter.com/BtDAvMZA9x— Niall | Fagulous (@the_fagulous) July 6, 2015

Doesn't sound like people are that keen on having "the D" in their bread, M&S.
