Midnight surfers ride moonlit waves in Israel

Surfers in Ashdod, Israel took to the waves of the Mediterranean Sea after sundown on Feb. 4, when air temperatures were cool, and the water was a chilly 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Nearly 40 Israelis vied for the top spot in the surfing competition, illuminated solely by the moonlight and a few spotlights on shore.
