Headline magnet Miley Cyrus, with her tongue out, just revealed she will host the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30 at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Cyrus, who won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball" in 2014, announced her role in an image she she posted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Fuck yeah VMAs!!!!! #VMAs on @MTV Aug 30 at 9pm A photo posted by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on Jul 20, 2015 at 3:52pm PDT

If history has taught us anything, it's Miley Cyrus can put on a show and surprise everyone, for better or worse, despite haters bemoaning her antics and wrongfully predicting the downfall of her career.

After winning Video of the Year last year, Cyrus opted to forgo giving an acceptance speech. Instead, she let a formerly homeless teen named Jesse give an emotional speech to help raise awareness and funds for homeless youth.

And let's not forget the viral 2013 VMAs, when a nearly-nude Cyrus gyrated across stage, groping Robin Thicke with a large foam finger and twerking on his nether regions while they sang "Blurred Lines" together.

At the time, the raunchy performance, in addition to her own teddy bear-infused solo of "We Can't Stop," earned the ex-Disney star the title of most-mentioned VMAs guest on Twitter.

MTV will unveil the 2015 nominees on Apple Music's Beats 1 on July 21.
