J.R.R. Tolkien's words lose a lot of their poetry when you Minecraft the hell out of them. But The Shire -- domain of the hobbits from the Lord of the Rings series, as well as, duh, The Hobbit -- sure looks cool when recreated inside of Mojang's hit game.
Around 25 fans have been working together to build The Shire in Minecraft since Nov. 2014. You can see the results in the beautiful images below, shared on imgur by project builder Fornad. The world is rebuilt at a 1:58 scale, and it looks like the team uses a graphical mod to tweak the look of the blocks and improve the overall lighting.
