PHOENIX -- Was it worth it for Missy Elliott to work it at the Super Bowl halftime show with Katy Perry? By the looks of her post-halftime music sales, the answer is a resounding yes.
After the 43-year-old rapper's throwback medley midway through Perry's elaborate performance, iTunes users rushed to buy both artists' singles and albums.
As of Monday at 7:30 a.m. local time, Missy Elliott had eight titles on the iTunes top 200 songs chart, with "Work It" at No. 7, "Get Ur Freak On" at No. 10 and "Lose Control" at No. 15 -- all of which are at least 10 years old. She has four titles on the top 200 albums chart.
Meanwhile, Perry has 11 titles on the songs chart and eight titles on the albums chart.
