White After Labor Day? 22 Photos From Mashable Readers

Labor Day unofficially marks the end of summer in the U.S., ushering in a new season of autumn leaves, chillier weather and dark coats. Wearing white after the first Monday of September used to be unacceptable; while it's no longer the fashion faux pas it used to be, the "don't wear white after Labor Day" saying has lingered long after its antiquated origins.

In cheerful defiance of the old adage, we asked Mashable readers to send us their best photos of something white for our weekly photo challenge. We were blown away by this week's submissions: snow-capped mountains, daisies in bloom, waterfall mists, fluffy puppies and kittens, birds in flight, tourist sites.

Check out the highlights above to see each white-themed photo submission in our gallery, and stay tuned for the next fun photo challenge: #YOLO.
